GreaterWork
Equiping individuals, households and businesses for greater economic impact
Welcome to GreaterWork!
A digital platform that equips individuals, households and businesses with practical knowledge to earn more, compete better, and contribute meaningfully to economic growth.
The platform was set up to support Uganda's economic transformation journey. Since 1986, the Government of Uganda has made significant investmnets in poverty alleviation and wealth-creation programmes aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting inclusive economic growth. While these initiatives have suported enterprise development and helped households participate in productive economic activity, several micro and small businesses still struggle to grow because of limited finance, low productivity. weak managerial skills, poor market access, and slow technology adoption. In agriculture, vast land is still underutilised with inadequate produce due to limited skills, capital , market access and value addition.
In light of the challenges at hand, there is a critical need to transform Ugandan businesses to achieve greater economic impact. This transformation requires advocating for productivity, value addition, market orientation, and financial discipline for sustained income growth and competitiveness. An equally important needed change is a mindset shift towards agriculture. Agriculture must be approached with a commercial mindset rather than a survival mechanism.
To close this gap, the GreaterWork platform provides simplified, practical information that helps enterprises become more productive, market-oriented and financially disciplined. enabling them to raise incomes, create jobs, and contribute to Uganda's economic transformation.
GreaterWorkUganda is a one-stop hub for simplified and practical information that empowers individuals, households and businesses to address key challenges and unlock their full economic potential.

Kigali to host 26th EAC MSMEs Trade Fair with focus on leather and horticulture value chains
East African Community
www.eac.int
Press release of 11 June, 2026
The East African Community (EAC) is set to hold the 26th EAC Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Trade Fair in Kigali, Rwanda, from 30th October to 8th November, 2026.
This follows a decision of the 48th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Trade, Industry, Finance and Investment (SCTIFI) held last week in Arusha, Tanzania. The decision reflects the EAC’s commitment to strengthening regional value chains, reducing import dependence and creating jobs through targeted industrial development.
This year’s Trade Fair will focus on the leather and horticulture sectors, chosen for their high potential in industrial growth, job creation, and import substitution, while remaining open to participation from other sectors across the region.
Greater Value is not created by what we extract, but by what we transform.
We believe that Uganda has the potential to transform its vast natural resources into higher-value products. By connecting people to the available knowledge, opportunities, markets, financing, and practical skills, we seek to unlock their productive potential and support the Government’s efforts towards economic development.-MANAGEMENT
